Jack Kennedy recorded a 41/1 double on the evening as Plain Talking landed the featured 188BET.co.uk Handicap Hurdle at Roscommon.
The Gavin Cromwell-trained filly was receiving weight all-round from her older rivals, and the four-year-old was up with the pace throughout in this €20,000 event.
Kennedy’s mount was supplementing a maiden win at Limerick in April, and overcame a mistake at the last to score by a length and a quarter. Mine Now held every chance in second place, with Some Hawk wandering a bit under pressure another two and a quarter lengths away in third.
Kennedy was following up the earlier success of the Gordon Elliott-trained Delegate in the rated novice hurdle.
Cromwell said, “She loves that ground. There was no pace and she was free. After missing the last and being free the whole way I was surprised to see her win. She's tough and pulled out more.
“She could sneak into a handicap at Galway. She gets the four-year-old allowance and it's a great allowance. She's tough for a four-year-old.
“Over two miles on quick ground things were happening too quick for her. She's only rated 61 on the Flat as well so could go back there.”
