Sam made a good move to nip up the inner before coming down the hill and it could have been the winning and losing of it. It was a brave move but it worked out great for him,. He lost his form a little bit but had an issue after he ran at Limerick last year and it took him a while to get back right. He had a lovely run the last day when he was completely wrong at the weights, but it gave him confidence coming here. I was worried about the ground but it worked out great. Tthere are four involved in the OGB Partnership including Ber (wife) and after he won a bumper we brought him to the sales but couldn't get anyone to buy him. We brought him home and he has now won at the Punchestown festival and has landed a big pot today. We had four winners last year, we've had good old craic again and it has been brilliant.

he has great form and we were unlucky in Galway as the rain came when he was the one horse I thought would win!. From Punchestown time we were thinking about Galway but the ground went soft and he was brought down, when Sam (Ewing) thought he was only getting going. He had a lovely run around under Darren Harris, who works in the yard, when finishing third in the Corinthian Challenge the other day. even though he won at Punchestown, he is a novice in the UK for the season and might go to the Cheltenham meeting in November for a novice hurdle which (stablemate) Peregrine Run won. He has plenty experience and 2m5f would suit him. Once the ground goes soft he will get a break.

He's a nice horse. His run in Punchestown was very good and we ran him back pretty quick in Wexford because these two races were slotting in. We'll keep him ticking over for Galway now and go for a nice handicap there, he has plenty of experience now. That'll be our main target with him. The horses are flying, we had a great season last year and it's continuing on this year so it's brilliant. He's a nice horse to look forward to. We can step him up in trip even more, when they got racing there after the fourth last we were caught for toe but he did it well at the death. The ground was probably as quick as he'd want it today but we had to run him to get the experience into him. We're looking forward to Galway now.

He was bought to be sold but we brought him across to Doncaster and couldn’t get anyone to buy him. Oran Crean, Gerry O’Neill and my wife Ber own him. He goes on nicer ground and we’ll tip away over the summer. I’ve been very lucky in this series. Fair play to Red Mills it’s great sponsorship and puts horses that don’t cost too much in their own bracket and gives them a good final at the end of it.

He put out a couple of splints after his first run (last December) and we are only getting him back going now.
