That's great, he was good,. Aidan was very happy with him and said he jumped well. He said you couldn't say that he really missed the second last, he got in very tight but was away quick. He jumped very cleverly. I'll talk to the lads now and see but he's in the National Hunt Challenge at Cheltenham. We'll get over today and see how he is tomorrow. He maybe takes a little bit of time to warm up but the further he goes the better he seems to be. He's developing away, he's improving all the time. I'd imagine he could be a National horse in time. It's an old pedigree and I think he'll improve a lot. The last day Aidan rode him he said 'you probably won't have a horse until next year' because he's immature. He's eight but they are all different. I'm delighted for the owners, they are a great bunch of lads. They were getting a fair bit of money for him last year. He was vetted and was going, Tom (Hegarty) rang me one evening and asked what I thought and I said 'I'd have to sell him if he was mine' but they kept him anyway, which was great. They are gutsy men and good lads to work with.

It was a good performance and Denis (O'Regan) was good on him - he rode him with fierce confidence, that's the way he rides and he was very good. He is a lovely, improving horse and is coming forward the whole time. I still think it'll be another year before he is a proper horse. Today's race was a grand race to progress and we'll see what's coming up. We might wait for the Dorans Pride novice hurdle at Limerick over Christmas.

He's an improving horse. He's still immature but he'll be a lovely horse over a fence next year,. We'll tip away over hurdles for the time being and see how he gets on. We were hoping to go to Cork last week but the ground was too quick. He's a winter-ground horse. Even yesterday I was worried the ground here mightn't be soft enough and I spoke to Tracey O'Meara (clerk of the course) and she told me to ring her in the morning. She had it walked at seven o'clock and, in fairness to her, she gave me a good description of it and I was happy to travel here then.

I'm very happy with that and he did it well,. The plan was to stay over hurdles but this came up at a suitable trip so we said we'd come here.
