That was grand and great that it worked out as his jumping kept him in it,. He is inclined to be lazy through his races but once he was there turning in, I thought he had a great chance. Staying is his job and he was unlucky in Punchestown when only beaten in a photo finish having been jumped across at the last fence. This is well deserved and he is tough. We were happy with his first run back over hurdles but disappointed with his second run, although today’s extra distance helped. This is my first time winning this race, it is a good pot and he is an 11-year-old, so it is great to get it. He is getting near the edge in handicaps now but we’ll look to the Porterstown Chase and to longer-distance hurdles now.

We are thrilled to get that as we were worried about running him back so soon after Limerick. When the ground was like this I said I'd keep going and three miles suited,. The minute he jumped the third hurdle I knew he was on song and was loving it. He really likes around here, seems to love the hurdles here and won here three years ago when it was like the river. He'll probably go for the 3m6f handicap chase at the Punchestown festival now as he finished second in it last year. There is a three-mile hurdle here during Easter but it is 0-116 and he might be out of it now.

he travelled away well today and jumped well but he made hard work enough of it in the finish and Mark did a good job in getting him up. We’ll see how he is and try and find something similar for him. We have about 12 in at the moment, about six for the track and six for point-to-points. We have a few four-year-olds and a few five-year-olds. We’ll keep it at that. I changed my mind about stopping completely. It’s something to get us up in the morning and is a family run operation.
