Tommies Call Tommies Call's half-sister is in the sales next week, in foal to Vadamos, so it's a timely boost for the pedigree. It's great to get a win with him as he promised so much on his first start. We thought we had a lovely horse going forward and gave him the summer off. We thought we did everything right, but when he came back he wasn't able to put one leg in front of the other. We couldn't find a whole lot wrong with him, he had niggly little bits and pieces but nothing major. We just decided later in the summer to train him from the field and it seems to have worked. In every other race he was off the bridle from the start, couldn't go the pace at all no matter what trip we ran him over. His jumping was always okay, that wasn't a factor, but he just didn't seem to be doing anything right. Today he popped off and was a different horse. He travelled, jumped and stayed going, which he hasn't done before. I'm disappointed we had to be down in a 0-95 race but it's great to get the win. If you'd told me months ago we were going to get a win out of him I'd have been thrilled with anywhere. Hopefully that will give him confidence and he'll go forward.

Nans View She led a seven furlong maiden up the Curragh until half-a-furlong down so we thought then that she was a mile filly, but we were up in distance recently and in fairness to Dylan Browne McMonagle, he had said to go this distance. She has a blend of both pace and stamina and handles deep ground very very well. She is very tough for a three-year-old and hurdling is now a major option. Unfortunately Sinead couldn't be here today as she is on holidays.

Barrogstown Girl She battled very well in fairness to her. I was a little bit worried about her bouncing two days after her last run, and about the draw,. Neve said she was game out, galloped and kept going the whole way to the line. She's a very honest little filly. She's probably one that will go hurdling, whether we go now or give her a bit of a break I don't know. We'll have a chat with the owners. She was in an online sale recently and there was no interest in her but (my brother) Mick (Fahey) got her sold to a few friends of his and it's paying dividends for them already. I didn't have a double up until this year and that's my second of the year now. We're just having a great year, the horses have been healthy and well and running well. It's a year that I don't want to see finish but it's great to have had a good year. Hopefully a few of the jumpers can take over now and win a few more for us.

Nans View She's been knocking on the door and finished strongly the last day over a mile,. Dylan said she hit the line well today over the mile-and-a-quarter and she'll probably go a little bit further. She's a nice filly and doing her job, she's at her level. Hopefully she'll improve with experience and it's great to get a day out of her. I think there is a race in Galway over a mile-and-a-half for her. She was second there so we might go back. She's not one for the all-weather as she needs a cut in the ground. If we can get her in before the end of the year she'll run and if not she'll go out until next year.
