J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Trishuli River, trained by Shane Crawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered severe interference at the first bend
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Shane Crawley, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Trishuli River, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Shane Crawley reported that the return to a sounder surface may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the contents of the report
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the first bend involving Numidia, ridden by W. Joyce, placed second, Trishuli River, ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, placed first, Brackloon Bay, ridden by M.W Hassett, unplaced, and Lady Montse, ridden by R.M Mulligan, unplaced, where it appeared they got tight for room
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.J.G. Ryan stated that his mount received pressure from his outside, W. Joyce stated that he received pressure from his outside, R.M. Mulligan stated that his mount leaned away from the horse on his outside and M.W. Hassett stated that his mount was very keen and he thought he was clear rounding the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
