Navan Sun, 17th Nov, 2024  Better Days Ahead We bought him off Warren Ewing a couple of years ago and bought him to be a big chaser. He looks like a chaser. It has been a slow burner to where we are getting with these horses. Noel and Valerie (Moran, Bective Stud) are massive supporters of Cullentra and they have invested a lot of money in racing. They are getting their dividends now. It takes time to get where we are and to get winners for them in Navan, their local track, is like a dream come true. I’m absolutely delighted for them and this is a special weekend. Obviously, he is entered in the Drinmore – that might just come a bit too soon. We will look at something probably around Christmas. He is a Martin Pipe winner and it is a race that good horses come out of.

Navan Sun, 17th Nov, 2024  Stuzzikini Brilliant! I tipped him up yesterday on television and I said he had a chance. I just thought he was a horse that leaves a bit for himself, he is a bit of a monkey. I thought he could have a couple of pounds up his sleeve. Gavin gave him a great ride. Danny was unfortunate, he got a fall. In fairness to him (Brouder), I’d say he has won on most of the horses he rides, so we will just keep him riding in the big chases!. To win seven Troytowns is unbelievable.

I loved the way when he made the mistake at the second last, he (Kennedy) squeezed him and he let him back on to the bridle: I’d say he is a nice horse. I thought it was a good performance, he quickened away from them. He has a great attitude and a great way of racing, he is so laid-back. You'd imagine we would go to the Lawlor's now (Grade 1 at Naas in January).

He made probably too much ground from the fifth-last to the third-last, he got there real quick and he just pulled up in front. I’d say he is a good horse and that was a fair performance.

I thought it was a very good performance there today, he jumped great and galloped the whole way to the line. It (Drinmore) might come a bit soon - obviously, I will have a chat with Frank (Berry) and the whole team and see.

Jack said he didn’t mind that ground. We were running him last year on heavy ground and I couldn’t understand why he was getting beaten. I was disappointed in a few bumpers last year. Maybe he doesn’t want it as soft as that. I’d say he is a good horse and he looks nice. He travels with a lot of pace.

Fairyhouse Tue, 12th Nov, 2024  General Hubble he’d a good run last week and Toni gave him a plucky ride: the 7lb off his back wasn’t any harm. There is a lady riders race back here in a few weeks and we may come back for that.

Naas Sun, 10th Nov, 2024  Farren Glory Jack said his best was from the last to the line. He didn't get pulled up until down below and its job done. We probably would have preferred a bit more competition. They didn't go quick, and he was looking around him. He said it was actually slippy and he slipped a bit and then was a bit careful. I'd imagine, with horses not getting out, he'll head straight on to the Drinmore now. In fairness he was better on that ground - Wexford was horrible ground.

Fairyhouse Tue, 5th Nov, 2024  Croke Park The Mediator deserved to win as he's been knocking on the door for a long time, so it's great. He's got loads of ability but he's been frustrating. We'll stick him in a handicap now and see what he does.

Down Royal Sat, 2nd Nov, 2024  Kala Conti Lisa (O'Neill, assistant trainer) is the only judge we have because she said she would win and we all went for the other one (Golden Joy)!. She's not a bad mare and she had graded form last year. I thought she would need the run to honest.

Down Royal Sat, 2nd Nov, 2024  Romeo Coolio He's a speedy horse and I'm delighted with him. He's a real two miler, a quick horse. He'll definitely stay two miles. I think he was almost foot perfect - even down to the last, he got in close to it and quick away from it. A great performance, he jumped class. He came out of Donnchadh's (Doyle) and all those horses are very well schooled. Last year in Punchestown he was running a bit keen and probably got a bit lit up at the end of the season. He's a lot stronger - even watching him walking around the ring, there is a big improvement in him today. Last year he was light. I imagine the Royal Bond will be where he goes, all being well.

Down Royal Fri, 1st Nov, 2024  Brighterdaysahead We didn’t want it turning into a sprint – we kind of thought Paul (Townend, on Daddy Long Legs) might try to stack them up in front. I said to Sam ‘look, go out and go a good gallop the whole way’. He said it wasn’t ideal because she was looking around in front the whole way. He said she had a good blow and she will come on plenty from it. If she had winged the last two, she would have won a couple of lengths. She is never going to win more than what she is going to, but it’s great to win.

Galway Sat, 26th Oct, 2024  Sporting Glory It was his first start for the yard and he was entitled to do that as he obviously had good form before coming to us. While he was more than entitled to win a maiden hurdle, it was still nice to see him go and do that. He should improve plenty from it and he also lost some ground when landing awkwardly at the second-last. Sam was happy with him and gave him a lovely ride. It is great for the owners who are great supporters of the yard and hopefully it is onwards and upwards with him. There will be plenty of novice opportunities for him and the fact he has already proven himself in top novice company in the past, you'd hope he will do so again.
