He disappointed us in Galway, he just ran a little bit flat. Ground is not an issue with him, although we were blaming it before. I thought he had a bit more bottle over a fence and maybe he will learn and get a bit more confidence with time. I'd say it wasn't an inconvenience that the last two were omitted. It was a decent race and it was run at a good pace. He was rated high enough over hurdles to run well in it and he was getting a 3lb allowance for not having won a race, so technically he was well enough in. The last day he ran here he missed the last in what was a decent beginners chase. Hubrisko has won since and Ballyadam was placed in Galway. There is no reason he can't go back over hurdles and we might mix it with him. I don't think he is as ground dependent as we thought. He finished out the race well and I like the way he hit the line. We might look for a winners-of-one for him now, we will see what's coming up in the next month.

On the basis of his bumper and maiden hurdle wins, we thought he was a graded horse. He had been very, very disappointing and on the days he ran bad he was nearly bet after two hurdles. There was no real explanation for it. We were so wrong with Jungle Prose in the weights today, with Danny Gilligan claiming 7lb as well. He travelled and jumped well. Hopefully that trip will just have him more in his comfort zone. We will keep him going now and touch wood he stays right. He will probably go for a beginners chase on his next run and we will see where we go from there. He fell in his point-to-point after jumping brilliant all the way. He looked very good jumping there but just tipped over on landing.

We got held up at just the wrong time but they have turned a corner. They just weren’t one hundred per cent and we had a few coughing. We always thought he was a good horse and was a good bumper horse last year. He loves nice ground and Sean said the difference in the feel of him today compared to Wexford was like two different horses. He’ll step up in company now and we’ll talk to Sam (McCauley, owner) about whether we run at Christmas or Naas. It looked like a truly run maiden to me and Sean said he was hard to pull up.

Barry said normally good horses get you out of trouble. The horse he was tracking didn't stop and then he was locked in a little bit and he said a couple of doors closed,. He said he's a good horse to get him out of trouble and he put it to bed in 100 yards. He's built on his first run, I hope. He didn't stop in Leopardstown, he was just beaten by a very good horse on the day and they were miles clear of the third. Hopefully he seems to be decent. He wouldn't show you a savage amount at home but when he went away to gallop on grass he improved every time he went away. Talking to lads that have Saddler Makers they say they are that way, show very little at home but are different when they get to the track. This fella is a very relaxed, very easy individual, nothing bothers him. Hopefully he stays in one piece. He's a well made sort of horse and he was well bought by James and Gerry Hogan, from Denis Murphy who recommended him to us. We'll have a talk now with the owners, he'll get an entry at Cheltenham and we'll see where we go from there.
