He has been lucky and unlucky as Susie fell off him the last day and she gave out to me for getting beaten on him at Ballindenisk (in December). I wasn't riding him but she gave out to me so I don't know how that works!. He is a beautiful horse, has done everything right but it is a pity we weren't qualified for Aintree as he was over-qualified. We thought we had the real deal for the race but he had been placed in the 2022 John Durkan (Grade 1) so isn't qualified this year. We will go to Punchestown instead, if the ground isn't heavy. We have a great family team at home and Susie is having a great time.

It was nice for him to get his head in front, going up to three miles and Robert said he wanted every bit of it. He'll have an entry in the 2m5f novice handicap and also the three mile Grade 1, both at Punchestown. Robert said he is a proper English National horse in the making for next year and said he loves that nicer ground. We'll campaign him differently next year, have him ready for the autumn, keep off the ground and have him for a spring campaign. For a big horse, he had us confused and we were doing the wrong thing for a little while but we'll get there some day! Today he was jumping like he did in Down Royal (in October).

After race at Down Royal Fri, 29th Oct, 2021 (1st)
He got his act together at the end of last year and he is a horse that is only filling his frame. From we jumped him over fences in the autumn, he was just different league. Sean (O'Keeffe) said he has never ridden a horse to have so much scope as he does. He could be exciting. He have a few jumpers and a few quality ones but he is exciting. When we got him he was a little bit sick when he was running in his bumpers and he just took about six months to get right. He's right now. He was in Pat Doyle's for the summer grass - the owners are friends of Pat Doyle. He has come back a different horse this year and we are very happy with him. The entries for the Drinmore are on Wednesday so he will probably get an entry. I wouldn't be afraid of stepping him up in class. He's very good. We'll stick to 2m 4f at the moment but the way he gallops there would be no harm in three miles either. I'd say this year we might stick to 2m 4f.

We’ll credit Kate (Mrs Harrington’s daughter — bought the horse) with this one. They’re flying (the yard’s runners). Every year come Punchestown Jessie always pulls a few out of the bag. That’s 45 winners for the season for myself — not too bad. That was a lovely performance and he’s back to what we really thought he was in the autumn.
