“It was very impressive. The way he put away a field of what looked the best bumper horses in Ireland did surprise me but Patrick had way more confidence in him than I had.
“He was keen on him all the time. I thought it was a very tough race.
“I wasn't as worried about the trip as a lot of people were. It so happened it was a two-and-a-half mile bumper at Christmas that he ran in. He didn't need the trip then, he's fast enough.
“He looked like a Cheltenham type for me anyway. It was a very good performance and I'm very pleased.”

it was the same as the last day and you'd love to get a lead on him as he's idle in front. I was trying to teach him today, and win, without doing something silly. He showed me the last day that he's there when I need him. It's grand to get him out again and you'd have to be happy with everything he's doing. Every day is experience for him.

he went out and did his own work in front. He was very idle in front and Jack Kennedy (on runner-up Top Bandit) kept him honest over the last couple. I couldn’t ask for any better. It was only two miles and we’ll see how he comes out of it. We’ll see if there is something between now and the Dublin Racing Festival. He’s an Arkle (Chase) type and we have other horses to come out over the next few days. I don’t know if they are as good as him but we’ll give them the opportunity.

After race at Cheltenham Tue, 16th Mar, 2021 (1st)
It’s a great start to the meeting. I couldn’t believe that he won so easy. Things were looking a bit tough rounding the last bend in Leopardstown (last month) and we were wondering whether he’d left his best performance of the year there (at Christmas), so we just brought home and freshened him up and it seems to have worked. The way he finished the race today he looks as good as any of our previous winners of the race — it was a Vautour-like performance.

After race at Leopardstown Sun, 7th Feb, 2021 (1st)
He didn't jump with as much fluency and was never in control of the race like I thought I could have been but the good ones get it done and thankfully he has done it. he was very good once Paul set him alight and I thought he put it to bed straight away. After the second last there looked to be a gang of horses queuing up behind to challenge him and the minute he changed gear there was only one horse, Ballyadam, and he fluffed the last. I’d like him to jump better than he did today. He was a bit careless down the back.

After race at Leopardstown Sun, 27th Dec, 2020 (1st)
He surprised me and impressed me. I was wondering if he was a two and a half miles horse or a two-mile horse. I know he can easily do it over two and a half but to come back to two miles and put in a performance like that in a Grade 1 was impressive.

After race at Leopardstown Fri, 27th Dec, 2019 (1st)
That was a very good performance, . Patrick said riding him at home that he’d come on a lot from his last run and you can see the evidence of that today.
