The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving Itsalonglongroad (GB), ridden by S. O'Callaghan, placed third, I Am Rocco (GB), ridden by P.T. Enright, unplaced, Prince Of Air (FR), ridden by S.D. Torrens, placed fifth, and Lakomet Of Saints (FR), ridden by D.E. Mullins, unplaced, where it appeared several horses ran short of room on the run to the first bend. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S
O'Callaghan stated that he lined up wide and felt that he was just riding the bend until he heard a shout and corrected immediately. P.T. Enright stated that he felt pressure from his outside on the first bend. S.D. Torrens stated that the horses on his outside rolled in and room got tight. D.E. Mullins stated that he felt pressure from his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found S
O'Callaghan, in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended him for eight racedays
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Added Bonus, trained by Brendan Maurice Walsh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.
