The team of owners we have help and I can’t train winners without a team of owners who have horses and then the team from my wife Jackie, to David Casey, Patrick, Ruby (Walsh), all our head people, it’s huge for them. I think they are probably going to enjoy it more than I will. It’s extraordinary stuff. For Patrick to do it makes it very special and to do it for one of my biggest owners (Simon Munir and Isaac Souede). The team of owners we have make the job what it is, I can’t do it without them. They all praise each other when they have a winner and share in each other’s disappointment. Without owners I wouldn’t be here, none of us would, it’s their sport. I was really pleased that Patrick was the one to do it because I wasn’t sure he was on the right one but he was spot on and I was wrong. I’m just delighted, I wouldn’t say emotional. When I started out I didn’t think anyone would ever train 100 Cheltenham winners and I certainly didn’t think it would be me. People were saying I should have done it last year!

He just does it when he has to. He's not the world's best jumper. Paul asked him for a big one at the last, he gave it to him but he nearly tipped him out of the saddle. It was great jockeyship by Paul to stay in the saddle. It's a fantastic achievement to get that done, get the job done. He did what needed to be done. He's got a huge engine, maybe he'll jump fences better - I don't know. If you can just get him near the winning post, get him over his hurdles without losing too much ground he's able to make it up on the flat.

We’ve done a lot of schooling with him and he’s just so unnatural jumping and Paul said he made a mess of the third-last, but he jumped the last two well when we wanted. We know he has an engine and it’s just about getting him from A to B, and going that bit slower over a longer trip has made the difference – he might jump his fences better than hurdles next year and we might go novice chasing with him. Most of our Champion Bumper winners have been stayers and on his pedigree and class it was worth worth trying the longer race. It probably took me by surprise how well he has come through the field and seeing him sat last there, I was wondering could he come from that far back? But Paul gave him a very confident ride and the frame of mind he is in at the moment, he just makes things happen. Once he got over the third-last I felt confident and definitely after the second-last I felt it was his to lose, but then again that last flight of hurdles, with probably one of the worst jumpers in racing, I guess there was always something to worry about. I thought for half a second when he landed over the last he might have thrown it away, but he did enough up the hill anyway.

he’s booked his ticket on the box (for Cheltenham) after that. It looked like there was plenty of pace on from the very beginning and horses that run around Naas in that kind of style on this ground usually end up good racehorses. I’m very happy with him and he looks a nice acquisition for Simon and Isaac (Munir and Souede).
