Reports in which Gentleman de Mee (FR) was mentioned
Gentleman de Mee easily lands odds in Flyingbolt
Odds of 1/5 suggested Gentleman de Mee would be very difficult to beat in the featured Flyingbolt Novice Chase at Navan and so it proved as the JP McManus-owned gelding routed four rivals in this Grade 3 event. Sat 05th MarFacile success for Adamantly Chosen
No worries whatsoever for odds-on backers of Adamantly Chosen (3/10 fav) in the two-mile maiden hurdle as last year’s Goff Land Bumper winner made all under Paul Townend for a facile 27 length victory. Thu 10th FebWide margin win for Gentleman de Mee
Only two horses counted from flagfall in the BetVictor Beginners Chase as 15/8 second-favourite Embrun Mitja tried his best to keep tabs on 1/2 favourite Gentleman de Mee. Thu 10th FebMcManus and Walsh complete Naas treble
Owner J.P. McManus and retained jockey Mark Walsh completed consecutive-races trebles at Naas today with the Gordon Elliott trained Minella Till Dawn, winner of the Naas Handicap Chase. Sat 13th FebOpera Hat winner cut for Cheltenham Mares' Chase
J.P. McManus' Elimay enhanced her Cheltenham Mares' Chase prospects with a comfortable win in the BBA Ireland Ltd Opera Hat Chase at Naas today, as she provided a fourth consecutive success in the Listed race for her trainer Willie Mullins. Sat 13th FebGentleman de Mee enters Cheltenham picture
Gentleman de Mee justified 2/7 favouritism when making all to win the Business Club Members Maiden Hurdle (Div II) at Naas today, scoring for trainer Willie Mullins, owner J.P. McManus and jockey Mark Walsh. Sat 13th Feb

It was a surprise but you only have to look back to Aintree last year. He settled much better today, so I had a bit of petrol for the finish. He has a serious engine. He sat on Dunvegan's girth early on, didn't tear away as he can often do. On this performance he deserves a crack at the Champion Chase.

He did that grand. He's settling better, jumping better and settling into his game. It might be hard to find another opportunity for him. He could perhaps go up to Grade 1 level over two-and-a-half miles at Fairyhouse. If I can't find a suitable two mile race we might take a chance and step him up in trip there. Otherwise there is the Grade 1 over two miles at Punchestown. He likes to get on with the job but Mark just thought he settled a fair bit better today, after the first two fences he said he was grand. He jumps them brave.

That was a good performance and he got his jumping right. He galloped to the line which was very pleasing and we'll keep him at that trip for the time being. He is very hard on himself and mightn't be ready to go across the water just yet. I think he might be a horse we keep at home and find races which might suit him. The Arkle isn't foremost on my mind and I'll have a word with connections but the Flyingbolt Chase at Navan (March 5) is an option. We'll try and play a lower ball and try and win a Graded race at home.

he’s in the Supreme and the Ballymore, and to me he’d be looking more like a Ballymore horse. I’ll see what connections want to do but I think he’ll improve as he goes up in trip. he had a setback early in the season so I hadn’t as much done as I would like to have had. It was pure natural ability what he did there. He jumped well, a bit green looking at the Irish hurdles even though he’s schooled over them before. Mark thought he was in control at all stages and I’m very happy with the performance.
