Reports in which Loughglynn (IRE) was mentioned
Captain Cody a notable Grade 2 Hurdle winner for Jody Townend
Captain Cody provided jockey Jody Townend with a notable success when staying on best to win the Grade 2 Paddy Kehoe Suspended Ceilings Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse. Sun 31st MarDancing City beats better fancied stablemate in Grade 1 Novice Hurdle
Trainer Willie Mullins won the opening race of this years Dublin Racing Festival but not with the horse most punters would have expected. Given his huge strength in depth, stable second and third strings always deserve maximum respect and so it proved once again, as 16/1 outsider Dancing City stayed on powerfully to beat evens favourite Predators Gold in the Grade 1 Nathaniel Lacey & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown. Sat 03rd Feb2 for Mullins and O'Keeffe including the feature at Limerick
Following on from Bunting in the opener Willie Mullins and Sean O'Keeffe doubled up in the feature at Limerick, the Grade 2 Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Land Rover Novice Hurdle. Loughglynn did the needful for team Closutton. Tue 26th DecLoughglynn takes in the scenery but wins easily
Loughglynn (2/5f) was the second unplaced Cheltenham Bumper-runner to score on hurdling debut for champion trainer Willie Mullins at Punchestown today, landing the Connolly's Red Mills EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle under Paul Townend. Thu 16th NovMullins seals brace through Loughglynn
The concluding bumper in Naas boiled down to a match in the straight between the market principals and it was Loughglynn who found most in the closing stagers to prevail. Tue 20th Dec
After race at Naas Tue, 20th Dec, 2022 (1st)
He was good and he’s improved. He’s a laidback type of horse and he kept responding. I think he’ll go out in trip as he doesn’t do anything quick. He stays very well and is a great ride — he only gives what you ask for which is always a help. We took a chance running him in a hundred grand race last year. I think he’s improved a lot and I think he’ll improve again.
W P Mullins
