Fairyhouse Tue, 12th Nov, 2024 Native Speaker he won his maiden hurdle in Kilbeggan but we were bitterly disappointed with him in Sligo but that was much more pleasing. It was a non-event that day and for whatever reason he just didn’t turn up. That was much more like what he showed us at home, his schooling and everything. He jumped from fence to fence, and Darragh is riding with plenty of confidence. He was good and positive over the last two. Ground is important to him, he wants nice ground, so we’ll see what the weather does and where we go next. That was as short as he wants, and three miles is what we are looking for but in fairness he showed a nice bit of pace off the bend down to the second last. He’s a three-mile chaser. |
Naas Sun, 10th Nov, 2024 Miss Tempo That was great, I'm delighted with that. He jumped brilliant and I thought Darragh was brilliant on him. It's lovely to see him back to form again, he's got a lot of class. He was very good here back in January and it's nice to get him back. He loves jumping and Darragh said at the first one down the back he couldn't see anything so he just squeezed up and he took off, he winged it. I love that with those two milers, it's always good to watch. I'm delighted for Cheveley Park. We said we'd come here and just see where we were and obviously we'll look at all those better races now. We'll get him home and see. I think he goes on any ground, he won on very testing ground here in January. I worried that the ground might just be a bit too good for him, but he seemed to love it. There is the Tingle Creek or the race at Leopardstown. |
Naas Sun, 10th Nov, 2024 Miss Tempo I'm delighted with that. Mikey was brilliant on her, really positive. I'm delighted for him, he gave her a super ride, and delighted for the lads. It's lovely to have John (O'Shea) here, he doesn't get over that often so it's brilliant that she's won when he's here. She loves it here and she's won well in the end. In fairness she's a hardy mare and she's got some really good form. She just lost her form a bit but it's lovely to have her back. She's rated 115, she might rob a bit of black type somewhere, but it's probably more handicapping than that. We'll see what the handicapper thinks but if there was an opportunity to get black type you wouldn't be opposed it. |
Gowran Park Sat, 9th Nov, 2024 Nara We're delighted with that, she was really good. She jumped well and did everything nicely. She was a bit careful over the first couple but once she got her confidence she was brilliant, and Mark was brilliant on her. She's a fine, big mare. She had a couple of nice runs over hurdles last year. She probably has a preference for a bit nicer ground. We'll maybe look at the mares' novice chase in Cork. |
Cork Sun, 3rd Nov, 2024 Gorgeous Tom obviously he had a mishap (when falling) in Tipperary which was frustrating but he was back on track there and Darragh was brilliant on him. He came well recommended and while he wasn't a bad hurdler, we hoped he'd step forward for a fence. There is the Drinmore (novice Grade 1 at Fairyhouse, early December) for him so we'll see and enjoy today. |
Cork Sun, 3rd Nov, 2024 Jane Eire She is a lovely mare who is progressing well and Peter Molony found her for Sarah (his wife) and the syndicate, so I'm delighted for them. She was good, did it really well and Darragh was brilliant on her. She jumped great bar the third-last and it was all good. She has been in quite a while so I might give her a break now and look towards the spring, when there are so many nice races. I'm a dreamer and you never know about going to Cheltenham but we'll see what everyone wants to do, as she was impressive there. She travels so that can get you a long way in a good race and we have her for fun. |
Down Royal Sat, 2nd Nov, 2024 Envoi Allen It was brilliant and he is just a class horse. Everyone at home has done such a great job. Obviously, it is a shame for Rachael but I'm delighted for Darragh, he gave him a super ride and he has really stepped up. Fair play to him, he is taking his opportunities. Cheveley Park are tremendous supporters of ours and the game, so I'm delighted for them as well. |
Wexford Mon, 28th Oct, 2024 Heart Wood I'm delighted, he is a lovely horse and he has done brilliant. I'm delighted to get it for Robcour. Darragh was good on him, he jumped well and he picked up well. |
Wexford Sun, 27th Oct, 2024 Jasko Des Dames His schooling at home had been very good and Darragh was happy to pop away in front if there was no pace, so we left it up to him. He jumped super and while he got in under the third-last, it was his first run over fences. I'm delighted for Basil, he got pipped at the post at Galway yesterday with Downmexicoway, so it's great to get a bit of compensation. Robbie Power, representing |
Clonmel Thu, 24th Oct, 2024 Tareze That was brilliant and I'm delighted for Sally Rowley-Williams as she has been a tremendous supporter of ours for years and it is lovely to see her win with a really nice homebred. She was a nice mare in the spring, but was always big and I felt she'd do better with a bit of time under her belt. She is still only a five-year-old, will improve plenty although definitely wouldn't want the ground any better than that. Darragh said it was safe though so we were happy to go. |
