Willie Mullins added to his recent domination of the SBF Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle as the well-bred Aurora Vega justified favouritism at Fairyhouse.

By Walk In The Park out of the great racemare Quevega which makes her a full sister to Facile Vega, the 85/40 market leader led before two out.

Paul Townend ’s mount asserted approaching the final flight before keeping on well on the run-in to beat Dream On Baby by a length and three-quarters. Beauforts Storm picked up some valuable black type in this Grade 3 event a further six and a half lengths back in third.

Mullins said, "It looked a big improvement to me, I was really taken by that performance.

“I thought she’d come on a lot from the last day, I wasn’t expecting that out of her.

“She looked like one that you’d maybe want to keep for the Grade 1 mares hurdle here at Easter. That would be foremost in my mind at the moment.

“Baby Kate (sixth) disappointed me a little bit with her performance there.”

Paddy Power and Betfair cut Aurora Vega into 14/1 (from 33/1) for the Mares Novices Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
