It was a nice way for him to open his account. He's been running cracking good races everywhere he's been,. We said today we'd wait for as long as we could. Maybe that was a help to him. He seems to have one bit of a run. There were days we weren't sure what way to go about trying to get that one run out of him. Today was better ground than we are getting anywhere else in the country and it was easier to drop him in and come with a challenge. Jack did a wonderful job. I told him beforehand if it didn't work he could blame me. You're not going to get many better than him. Jack said he'd get three ridden that way and we might look at some of the better three-mile handicap hurdles. It was all about today and trying to break his duck. I had hoped to win a hurdle in the spring last year and then go chasing this year but because of the Covid and everything that stopped us. Even before the end of this season he might be jumping fences.

The Stewards interviewed I.J. Power, rider of Jacksons Gold, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account cautioned him on this occasion
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Jacksons Gold trained by Ms. Alice Curran was found to have pulled a hind shoe and was sore post race
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-130 that have not won a hurdle race before 3rd May 2020 that are EBF eligible and have not run as a two or three yr old under any Rules of Racing and that have not won a steeplechase
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight is 10st 3lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
