The Johnny Murtagh trained Zylan made all to land the concluding www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden at Dundalk today, completing a memorable few days for promising apprentice jockey Denis Lenihan
Lenihan, who is attached to the Murtagh yard, had partnered his brother Eddie Lenihan's Aurelia Cotta to his first two wins as a trainer last week and was today registering a fourth win.
Afterwards Murtagh stated "it was a good performance - he always had a nice bit of ability and handled the track well in a maiden here last year.
"I'm delighted for the owner (Martin McArdle) who hasn't had a winner in a while. I was talking to him on the phone and he's delighted.
"We'll see if we can win a handicap with him now."
Regarding jockey Denis Linehan, Murtagh added "he's riding very well and is a good lad. He has a big future."
