J.M. Sheridan, rider of Pinball Wizard, trained by John J.Nallen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room just on the line
Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Above It All, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount did not get a clear run close to the line
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident close to the line involving Pinball Wizard, ridden by J.M
Sheridan, unplaced, Trueba, ridden by W. Joyce, placed fifth, and Above It All, ridden by Siobhan Rutledge, unplaced, where it appeared that Trueba shifted left close to the line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount received pressure from his outside causing him to move inwards
Siobhan Rutledge stated that she was racing from off the pace and had to slightly check on the line. W. Joyce stated that his mount went slight left despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that W. Joyce was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion
The Raceday Stewards fined Patrick J.Flynn, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared headgear to Whatharm, prior to entering the parade ring.
