The Raceday Stewards interviewed Neve Bennett, rider of Sondheim, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Neve Bennett accepted that she had breached the whip guidelines for frequent use of the whip. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Neve Bennett was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using her whip with excessive frequency. Having taken her recent record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Neve Bennett for five racedays. Mr M.C. Hickey, Chairman of the Raceday Stewards was not present at this enquiry and was replaced as Chairman by Mr Joseph M. McGrath
G.M. Ryan, rider of Lisabetta, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered inside the two furlong marker
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Twins For Joy, ridden by Adam Caffrey, Lisabetta, ridden by G.M. Ryan, and Redshore City, ridden by O. McSweeney where it appeared that Lisabetta checked when Redshore City edged towards its racing line. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, G.M. Ryan stated that his mount was slow to try and take a gap, ran out of room and checked. O. McSweeney stated that his mount was going nowhere quickly when edging to the left before being straightened. Adam Caffrey stated that his mount had rolled both left and right before being straightened. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action. Mr M.C. Hickey, Chairman of the Raceday Stewards was not present at this enquiry and was replaced as Chairman by Mr Joseph M. McGrath
