We said to the owner as a two-year-old that 'this one is a bit special' and that's where the name came from. We minded her at two because it was late in the season and when it came to three we said we'd wait for the right race. She had been doing everything really really well. It's a good family, and I like the sister a lot, but we think this one is just that little bit special. It's just nice to see her going and doing it. We're not 100 percent sure where we're going to go next with her. Really today was the first thing and we wanted to see how she would do. First time out you are always a little bit apprehensive to see if she'll do it. I think we can go where we want with her. She was a bit green today so she should improve a nice bit. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Danvers Gold, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
S. Foley, rider of Danvers Gold, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very keen throughout the race
R.P. Cleary, rider of Finsceal Go Deo, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to check his mount one and a half furlongs out after leaving the stalls
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Danvers Gold, ridden by S. Foley, placed fourth, and Finsceal Go Deo, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed third, where it appeared R.P. Cleary had to check his mount. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Cleary stated that his filly jumped smart and was starting to settle when Danvers Gold came in on top of him and he had to check his mount. S. Foley stated that his filly was running very free, he wanted to get a lead and slot in but his filly was being very awkward. S. Foley also stated that he tried his best to keep his racing line. Having considered the evidence The Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was due to Danvers Gold running free and so took no further action
