Dundalk Fri, 8th Nov, 2024  Higher Kingdom Gary's a good judge of pace and the horse has obviously come down a lot in the handicap. He's a funny old horse - he's by Kingman and he has his own thoughts on the game, but he owes us nothing. He has been a great servant for us. Delighted for Seamus (Devlin), big supporter of the yard and he has been very patient with him. He was running into a bit of form based on his last run and even his run before that in Navan was a pretty decent run. It would be nice if he could back it up, but today was the day.

Dundalk Fri, 4th Oct, 2024  Tough Talk You could argue that (tough by name and nature). He qualified for the race in Laytown and Derek (O'Connor) just did what he did. He leads all our work at home and he is very, very straightforward at home. That was lovely and he is a fine horse - he's a gorgeous horse, but he's off to the Sales and we've had our time with him. You don't ever want to lose them, but we have had our time with him and it is what the policy is. They sell at a certain level and that is where he is, you can't keep running in Dundalk with him. He was a quality two-year-old and was held up as a three-year-old. It has taken us this long to get him right and then you saw him on the beach (Laytown).

Gowran Park Tue, 3rd Sep, 2024  Monumental he did it nicely from the draw (wide in 9) and Wayne gave him a lovely ride and tracked the pace. He’d a good run the last day at the Curragh and the form has worked out well. Wayne thought that seven furlongs trip suits him well as he has plenty of pace and can travel off a good speed. He’s got a host of options now and is definitely a Stakes horse in the making. Maybe something like the Flying Scotsman at Doncaster or he could wait for the Legacy at Dundalk. Wexford Fri, 30th Aug, 2024  Duty Bound He is very well-bred,. He had a few problems when we got him but thankfully we've ironed them out. He always worked fairly well and I said I'd give him a run in a handicap chase today to protect his (hurdles) mark. Then they took all those fences out and it worked in his favour. I said to Conor that if he was going well over the last down the back to set sail for home because he won around Sandown and he is tough and hardy. He stuck at it well. . The Queen actually bred him and I got him out of Andrew Balding's at Newmarket last year.  . I'm delighted for his owners. I own a share in him along with Des O'Brien, John Bermingham and Johnny O'Neill. . Today was the plan and we might go back hurdling with him now, we'll see what happens.

Dundalk Thu, 15th Aug, 2024  Settlement . I hit a bit of a flat spot coming past the three (pole) but, once I grabbed her up again coming up the straight, I always felt like I was going to get on top of the horse that finished second. She did it well. Mr Weld said to keep it straightforward and we got a lovely run around. Kept it simple and settled well, and thankfully it worked out. A filly like that could get a bit of confidence from getting her head in front and is very well-bred, and has been running very well in some very good maidens. Hopefully she will get a bit of confidence from that and improve.

Gowran Park Sat, 27th Jul, 2024  Pier Pressure it's a pity for Amy Jo (Hayes, jockey) as I used to work with her father and she was due to ride him but was claimed for one of her regular stables today, so we went back to Jack who has gone jumping. The horse loves getting in to trouble and he's due that win. We kept him on the team, he leads work at home and he'll pay his way. The other filly (Vivienda) is inexperienced, was a three-year-old racing against older hardened horses and it was her first time in a big handicap. There are plenty of days in her.

Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jul, 2024  Swelter She's a gorgeous filly, she's a big filly and has always shown ability,. I did enter her in the Moyglare and the Debutante so it's not a surprise that she won here at all. She settled beautifully. She's a big filly so I'm looking more at next year with her. Please God she can make into a Guineas filly, that's how high I rate her. She's a talented filly, a nicer mover, and my only concern was a mile for her first run. If it was seven I'd have been confident that she'd win because of the pace she has. That's why Chris took his time on her, from a fitness score to go a mile, but she had no problem with the distance.
