Review tramore 14th Dec
Willie Mullins looks to have yet another exciting prospect on his hands judging by the impressive manner in which Laurina opened her account in the Online Tickets From www.tramore-racecourse.com Mares Maiden Hurdle at Tramore.
The 1-4 favourite was always travelling powerfully in the hands of Paul Townend and once given the office between the third and second last, she breezed away from her rivals to record a facile 15-length triumph.
Townend went on to ride a second winner on the afternoon when he steered Terrible Beauty to a comfortable victory in the Tramore Annual Badge - Great Gift For Christmas Maiden Hurdle.
The filly was making her debut over hurdles but jumped well in the main and only had to be pushed out to beat long-time leader So Influential by five lengths.< Seskin Flyer (11-1) benefited from a canny ride from Andrew Ring when holding off Princess Mahler by half a length in the www.tramore-racecourse.com Handicap Hurdle.
The six-year-old was kept wide in search of better ground for much of the two-mile contest and was delivered with perfect timing approaching the last, getting away in front before being driven right out to complete a maiden success.< Poker Party (4-1) landed some decent bets when justifying joint favouritism in the Waterford & Tramore Supporters Club Handicap Hurdle.< Chateauneuf Du Pap looked a big danger as they jumped the final flight but Poker Party had far too many guns in the closing stages and pulled away by five lengths.
A fine leap at the last saw Ardera Cross (4-1 joint-fav) get the better of Glencairn View in the Waterford & Tramore Racecourse 2017 Recognition Award Beginners Chase.
There was nothing between the pair as they headed towards the final fence but the jumping proved key and Ardera Cross had three quarters of a length to spare at the line.
There was a shock winner of the Waterford & Tramore Directors Handicap Chase as Cadawill stayed on best to oblige at odds of 25-1.
