Soweheard made it three winning favourites in a row when scoring in The Heart Of Down Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick at 6/4 for Gordon Elliott.
He was upsides at the last before picking off Faanan Aldaar (13/2) for a three and a half length success under Davy Condon.
I Am Great partially lived up to his name by taking third at 16/1. This was his first track appearance for 657 days, though he did come second in a point-to-point at Toomebridge last weekend.
“He’s a grand big old slow horse. He’ll win plenty of races,” Gordon Elliott said.
“He might end up in Perth next time. He might have had a bit more in hand than it looked.”
Indiana Oscar slipped up on the bend approaching three out while in mid division of the 10-runner field.
Winning connections, the Fogarty’s, made the trip up from Offaly.
