The winners just keep flowing for Gordon Elliott and he’s already on the 141 mark for the current Irish National Hunt season after saddling a 124/1 four-timer at Navan with My Trump Card readily landing the odds in the Timeless Sash Windows INH Flat Race.
The Shantou gelding, bred by Patrick Mullins who was also in the saddle here, made a promising debut over hurdles at Navan but was absent for a year until just denied in a bumper again at this venue last month.
The 30/100 favourite led entering the straight and the response was immediate after being shaken up by Mullins over a furlong out as he stretched clear for a facile success.
The winning margin was nine lengths back to The Story So Far with Jackmoon a further three lengths away in third.
Elliott said, "He's a lovely big galloping horse, a smashing horse, and he's a horse for the future.
“He'll go jumping now. He improved plenty from the last day, in fairness, so we're delighted.
“It looked like a winnable race. We had another horse to run but he didn't work as well as I thought he would the other day.
“He could maybe run again over hurdles at Christmas.”
Elliott was successful earlier on the card with Jigoro Caldwell Potter and Embittered
