The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about 3 and a half furlongs from the finish involving Gone For Tea, ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery and In A Little While, ridden by K. Callaghan where it appeared Gone For Tea got tight for room when going for a gap on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D.G. Lavery stated that there was plenty of room to go for the gap on the inside but it closed when he was half a length down and he had to check to avoid clipping a heel. K. Callaghan felt there wasn't room for a horse on his inner and stated that he manoeuvered closer to the rail without being aware Gone For Tea was on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found K. Callaghan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden Improperly, and having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended them for 3 racedays
Mr F. Maguire, rider of Sheemore, trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violntly left and his saddle slipped
N.J. Ryan, rider of Nagambler, trained by Neill McCluskey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly

Rules or Rules of Racing that are EBF eligible Weights - 4-y-o 11st 6lbs 5-y-o and up 11st 11lbs Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Professional Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 14th June) may also ride in this race.
