Bellewstown Sat, 12th Apr, 2025  Letters To Juliet We didn't have many runners and we have young horses in the yard. This poor filly should have won at least twice. We just decided we would put her chasing to put a bit of manners on her the last day and she landed on the fourth last below in Wexford. Her jumping today was virtually perfect. Travelled well. We were wondering about the trip, was it a bit short for her? We had 9st 7lb and she's the smallest filly, and I think that helped more than the actual distance. I walked the track last night - I don't know how many other trainers did, but I did. We were happy to run her on it. She did it well. We love her and she has a great pedigree. It is wonderful to win the Boardsmill Stud Mares race because I can safely say, bar the last three years in the last 40, we have supported that place with mares. They are a wonderful stud and wonderful people to deal with. We have about 13 in now. We have a few nice young horses, we are looking forward to it. A few by Poet's Word which we are really excited about.

Gowran Park Sat, 8th Mar, 2025  Battle Of Ridgeway He was still going well coming to the second last here the last day over fences, but he ran with the choke out and didn’t get home. He was a lot more relaxed today and was coming back in trip. He’s a real chaser but was always a moral to win a race over hurdles off his (12lb lower) mark.

Fairyhouse Sat, 25th Jan, 2025  Leah's Contessa That was very good. I thought she might be doing a bit too much during the race, she didn’t settle very well but she still found plenty off it and it was a nice performance. I’d say she was just getting lonely in front at the last, she’s never jumped a hurdle in front on her own before. That’s my first winner for John (Breslin). I met him in Galway last year and he said he’d give me a couple of horses. She’s the only horse that I’ve ran for him. He bred it himself so fair play to him, he’s delighted. It’s nice to see a home-bred winning for him. She’s only a handy filly but she’s hardy. She stays well and jumps well so hopefully there is more to come from her.

Thurles Sun, 19th Jan, 2025  That's About Right His jumping wasn't brilliant the day he won his beginners chase here but is getting better and better. Tiernan was very good on him and he jumped very well with him - I keep saying his 7lb claim is invaluable to me. The horse has been very lucky as I was finding soft ground all summer for him and was poking along through but Thurles this winter has really suited him. . I'm not quite sure where we go next and I'll see if I can find a novice handicap chase somewhere - he needs good ground.
