The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident just after the start of this race, involving Alvarez Eclipse, ridden by M.P. O'Connor, where it appeared that Alvarez Eclipse started to buck and plunge forward resulting in M.P
O'Connor getting unseated . Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied a fair start had been effected, and therefore took no further action
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Niall Moore, rider of Mister Twist, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Niall Moore stated that his mount needs plenty of encouragement but accepted he had breached the whip regulation for frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Niall Moore, was in breach of R10.3(g)frequency. Having considered his record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended Niall Moore, for two racedays.
