The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Unanswered (GB), trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of The Echo Boy trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground and pulled up
C.D. Maxwell, rider of She's Commanche trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race and was pulled up
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Conor Clarke, rider of A Cheap Thrill, concerning his use of the whip during this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Conor Clarke stated that his mount was a disappointing horse and when he came off the bridle, the whip was applied to try and get a response. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Conor Clarke was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using the whip unnecessarily after it's chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and R10(3)(h)by using the whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Conor Clarke for one raceday.
