Dark Shot (GB), trained by Scott Dixon, won yesterday, 26 October 2021, at Catterick.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Permission was given for Zim Baby (GB) to go early to post.
Leaving the stalls, Dark Shot (GB), placed second, jumped right bumping and turning the hindquarters of the winner, Raasel (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the final furlong, Ben Macdui (IRE), unplaced, hung left onto Zim Baby (GB), placed fifth, which in turn made slight contact with Wrenthorpe (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the final furlong, Show Me Show Me (GB), placed sixth, drifted slightly left at the same time as Isle Of Lismore (IRE), unplaced, edged right causing Good Luck Fox (IRE), unplaced, to be briefly eased, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Show Me Show Me (GB).
Following the race, Kevin Stott reported that Ben Macdui (IRE), unplaced, hung left and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed the gelding had bled from the nose; the Veterinary Officer also reported that Mulzim (GB), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe and Jonathan Fisher reported that Zargun (GER), unplaced, hung right.
William Buick reported that Faustus (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; Robert Cowell’s representative reported that the gelding was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Good (Good to Soft in Places) on this occasion, and would prefer an easier surface and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
