Watson was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed without sufficient correction causing McHugh to have to take a precautionary check.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Dave Dexter (GB), unplaced, weakened quickly in the home straight and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The representative of Charles Hills reported that Spoof (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft in places ground which in their opinion was riding particularly tacky on this occasion.
Graham Lee reported that Glory Fighter (GB), drawn 11, which finished unplaced, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate causing the stalls to open early.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
