Permission was given for MADAM FENELLA to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving ANFIFICAS BEAUTY (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Tom Queally; Brides Bay, unplaced, ridden by Pat Cosgrave; Duly Amazed (GB), unplaced, ridden by Charlie Bennett; Madame Fenella (GB), placed second, ridden by Danny Muscutt and Breach (GB), placed third, ridden by Neil Callan.
The interference was found to be accidental as Queally’s mount jumped awkwardly from the stalls and shifted slightly right when running free, moving Bennett slightly off his intended line, which in turn caused Cosgrave to be moved off his intended line and Muscutt to become short of room and take a check off heels.
The winner You Are My World (FR) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on the 3rd August 2022 where the filly finished fifth of eight, beaten by 7 lengths.
Tony Carroll’s representative could offer no explanation other than the filly possibly appreciated a return to a flat track.
You Are My World (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race Pat Cosgrave reported that Brides Bay (IRE), placed sixth, was slow away and Daniel Muscutt reported that Madame Fenella (GB), placed second, suffered interference shortly after the start.
