The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the first hurdle involving Harbour Highway, ridden by Conor Clarke, placed third, and Solsbury Hill, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, placed first, where it appeared Solsbury Hill ran short of room and hit the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Conor Clarke stated that his mount jumped right and as he came back to the rails he did not realise the horse on his inner was there and he took his racing line. C. G. O'Dwyer stated that he ran short of room and hit the rail as the field moved across to the rails
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Conor Clarke, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Conor Clarke for four race days
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fortune The Brave, trained by John C
McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
J. Coen, rider of Glyde Ranger, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused at the first down the back
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Harbour Highway, ridden by Conor Clarke, and trained by Emmet Mullins. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Conor Clarke stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division and ride his mount to hit the line well. Emmet Mullins confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He added that he instructed the rider not to use the whip today unless it was the difference between winning and losing, as his charge has been disappointing and he is trying to restore his confidence. Furthermore he stated that the tongue tie was left off today on the recommendation of the owner's equine physio. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Harbour Highway was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action
