R. Walsh, rider of Lucky Bridle, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free. The Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of City Slicker, placed second, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse was tried in a hood last twice which didn't seem to work and perhaps removing it today brought about an improvement. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the contents of the report. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Lucky Bridle, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. T.E. Doran, rider of Star Of Aragon, trained by J.A. Nash, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at a hurdle and unseated on the flat shortly after.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (150 = 11st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not; be less than 11st 10lb Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper. Any horse rated above 150 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 150 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 150 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
