He did it nicely. He was a little bit keener than Ruby would have wanted and as a result probably didn't win as impressively as we expected,. We'll see how he is in the morning and hopefully we'll run him back. The ground is beautiful and he's a relatively fresh horse. Hopefully we can get him relaxed a bit better. He got geed up at the start when a horse bumped into him and it set him alight.

Great credit to Sligo, they've produced lovely ground.He will go for the four-year-old novice hurdle on the Monday of Galway now.Hopefully Ruby will ride him again, he won the race for me last year. Additional reporting by Gary Carson

I thought he had a very good chance as he's a soft ground horse and stays well,. It was a brillliant ride from Pat Smullen as the horse changed his legs a few times coming down the hill. He took his time, got his balance and came home very strongly. He may go to Naas next Monday.
