The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Carrigeen Konini, ridden by Miss E.A. Lalor, and trained by R.H. Lalor. Evidence was heard from the rider who also acted Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned
Miss E.A. Lalor, stated that her plan was to jump off mid division and get light at her hurdles. Her mount was very wound-up today and was hooded. She jumped off further back than she had wanted, it was her first run over this trip and on this going, she didn't want to empty her mount. She travelled and jumped better the further she went and passed tired horses when running on in the straight where she also ran around a bit on the run to the second last hurdle. She expressed her satisfaction with today's run given her poor jumping the last day. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Carrigeen Konini was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action except to caution Miss Lalor to be stronger with her riding in future given her responsibilities under Rule 212 A(ii).
