The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Grand Slam Sam (GB), trained by W.P
Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Miss A. Hourigan, rider of Field A Thistles, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Miss A. Hourigan admitted that she had exceeded the whip guidelines for frequency and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Miss A
Hourigan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using her whip with excessive frequency. Having taken her clean previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Miss A. Hourigan for two racedays.
An I.N.H. flat race for four and five years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing other than one, two or three I.N.H. flat races or N.H. flat races or a combination of such races and which had been catalogued and offered in the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale of June 22nd & 23rd, 2022, the Tattersalls Ireland May Store Sale of May 10th, 2022 or the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale of July 13th & 14th, 2022. Horses must be declared by Tattersalls Ireland Ltd. as being eligible to enter and run in accordance with the relevant Conditions of Sale.
