Leopardstown Mon, 3rd Mar, 2025  Barnahash Primrose That was great. It’s been a stop-start kind of season with small niggly things all the way along,. Hopefully, they are starting to come right now. It’s great to win. We probably had an extra man on her back with Michael O’Sullivan, he came into me a lot. It’s just an awful tragedy. There were a lot of things went wrong for her in the race. At the start she nearly went out through the wing. She’s an honest mare. We can draw a line through Christmas. She just gets a little bit flustered and she got flustered down at the start and they got away on her. Limerick was very tacky and I don’t think she handled it. She won a bumper around there but it was normal loose heavy ground at Christmas and they go through it. Hopefully, we can keep her in one piece. Her mother (Barnahash Rose) won the Shannon Spray in Limerick (Grade 3, 2016), but it may come a bit quick in ten days time, we’ll see. Maybe she could go to Fairyhouse for the Grade 1, would she be good enough?. We’ll try and get to Limerick if we can, but it might be coming a bit quick. We’ll see how she comes out of it.

Clonmel Thu, 13th Feb, 2025  My Gaffer He promised a lot and when we put him in big handicaps he got crowded out of them as he is small but he is a brilliant little jumper. Hopefully he won't get rated too highly now and while he won't be going to Cheltenham or anything, he could be a summer national-type of horse. We'll keep him to country tracks. He is a well-bred horse and his mother finished second in Cheltenham. Dara's brother Oran had ridden for me in the past but this was his first ride for me. I was looking for a claimer and after he won a point-to-point last Sunday, Tom Keating (winning point-to-point handler) texted me on his number. He gave the horse a great ride.

Thurles Thu, 28th Nov, 2024  Malinas Glory At last - it was a while coming! He did it nicely in the end today. He is belonging to a 10-member syndicate from all over and some are local to us, so I'm delighted.

Punchestown Sun, 24th Nov, 2024  Touch Me Not Sam said he got as much fun riding him as he has on any horse in a long time. He came from the point-to-point field in England. He actually fell at the last in his point-to-point, believe it or not. I was worried about the ground but it was a good performance. He obviously came on from the last day. He was very keen at home as a young horse and he wasn’t showing me anything, but he’s come a long way in six months. I’m not sure where he’ll go next, but we’ll get him home and see where we go.

Cork Sun, 3rd Nov, 2024  Oscars Brother I'm delighted to have got off the mark and for everyone involved and the horse got a great ride from Dan. It is my home track as I'm from 15 minutes out the road although I'm based in Golden, Co Tipperary. I did the trainers' course around Cheltenham time this year and I've had one other Flat runner, along with this horse. I have three riding out but just him to run until Christmas time. I'll concentrate on my own horses for the time being and see how it goes. I rode a four-timer here in 2013 which seems a long time ago and it was always a lucky track for me, so I love coming here. This horse is a novice until December so things will get tough for him although whatever he does over hurdles is a bonus as he will be a good chaser. I might look at a three-mile handicap hurdle around Christmas but today had been his target for a while. I found the race hard to watch as I was quite nervous and think it is easier to ride them - I'll leave that to Dan as he is doing a good job.
