The dream partnership of Aidan O'Brien and Johnny Murtagh got off to the best possible start here as Georgebernardshaw obliged in fine fashion. The Danehill Dancer colt was very disappointing on the All Weather at Dundalk at the backend of last year trailing in sixth when a well backed 8/11 favourite.

Beaten in all three starts last season, including the first two-year-old race of the year, he put this issue to bed rapidly when cruising through to lead a furlong from home and when Murtagh changed his hands with 100 yards to go, that was as strenuous as it got.

In the absence of O'Brien, Murtagh later said that he felt there was more to come from this fellow and he could be one worth watching for the season.

Following home the facile winner was debutant Manhattan Beach who undoubtedly would have pleased connections on her first trip to the track. The filly by Captain Rio should not hold a maiden tag for too long while just a further head back in third was Nice Style who ran an encouraging race for Ger Lyons.

Another debutant this one finished well from the very back of the field to claim the bronze medal and slightly better ground should see this Desert Style gelding claim a similar contest.

Favourite at the off was Jelous Guy who ran an encouraging race when having his first start at Dundalk last month. He just failed to pick up on the ground and a nice pot on the All Weather or a decent contest elsewhere should be in his grasp.

Ability N Delivery from the David Wachman yard was slightly hampered leaving the gates and this experience should stand him in good stead.

Lady Alicia proved a tricky customer at the start and was withdrawn after providing Jose DeOliverira with a crashing fall. The daughter of Hawk Wing eventually made it into the stalls but backed out again flipping over and landing on her back at the start.

Little Annie was another who was somewhat reluctant but she managed to get loaded and jumped off with the rest of her rivals.
