DARING MAN made a winning debut here and stayed on nicely to eventually nab He's Got Rhythm in the closing stages, having been switched to the outer in the straight. Winning trainer Michael O'Brien was absent but was represented by assistant Denis Cullen who reported "he's a nice horse and has plenty of pace. It was great to have Michael (Kinane) on board and he was delighted with him."
The winner is by Talkin Man, who sired Breeders Cup winner Better Talk Now, and according to Cullen "will come back here for a winners' race next", and with the benefit of this run under his belt, can take plenty of beating.
Runner-up HE'S GOT RHYTHM is overdue a maiden win and on this evidence, that looks well within his range. He probably ran to his 81 rating and can take beating in a similar event.
BRAVE FALCON, in first time cheek pieces probably ran its best race, despite finishing a well beaten third. The 59 rated gelding has prospects of winning a handicap, provided the handicapped isn't too harsh on him.
EPIC ODYSSEY was slightly disappointing while PORTO SANTANA is probably flattered by his 80 rating and a maiden win may prove beyond him.
GOLDEN TOKYO started favourite for the second time in two starts and again disappointed badly. Handicap company may provide some prospect of a win but he does need to leave this form well behind.
