Copper Dock ran out a comfortable winner of this apprentice handicap. He came from well off the pace ridden by the capable Amy Parsons.

The pair needed some luck in the straight, but all worked out well.

The runner-up, Step It Up, and third, Funatfantasia, also came from well off the pace.

Collingwood made the running, coming across from a wide stall to soon take the lead, but over a trip short of his best he looked very one paced when headed at the furlong pole.

Paris Sue and Libra Child were brought to the start early.
