M.A. Gallagher, rider of Bionic Tonic (GB) trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got squeezed up in the straight and as a result he clipped heels
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Amazing One (GB), ridden by T.P. Madden, Stamp Of Authority, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, and Bionic Tonic (GB), ridden by M.A. Gallagher, where it appeared Bionic Tonic (GB) ran short of room and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.G
O'Dwyer gave his evidence in the presence of A. Keatley. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action
The Stewards requested a report from Karl Thornton, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Nakakande, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this filly has a history of foot promlems. She was tried with stuck-on shoes at Sligo and ran well. She was tried with half and half shoes last time and ran poorly. Today they reverted to the glued-on shoes which may have contributed to a return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered
