R.P. Whelan, rider of Time And Money trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount went left up the straight
C.D. Hayes, rider of Ballycaines trained by B.A.Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered in the straight and had to check
G.F. Carroll, rider of Blankiedoodie (GB) trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got no clear run in the straight
The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one and a half furlongs from home involving Time And Money, ridden by R.P. Whelan, Ballycaines, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Munfallet, ridden by R. Coakley, where it appeared horses got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. Hayes stated that he got contact from both sides. Mr. Whelan stated that he nursed his horse and felt his horse shifted slightly towards Mr
Hayes at which point he heard a shout and straightened up. Mr. Coakley stated that he was waiting for a run, he felt there was a gap at which point he committed. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while Ballycaines did receive interference they did not apportion blame to any rider and took further action
GENERAL INFORMATION The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Mr. Justice T. Hunt (Chairman) Mr. P. Caffrey Mr. P. McCartan Mr. M.F. O'Donoghue
