When I thought Derek could ride him early last week I was inclined to run him. He’s done well, he’s been away a few times and showed plenty. Our hands were tied coming places but when I knew your man was available it made it a lot easier. He’s a Siyouni. I bought him as a breeze-up yearling, he was too big and no-one wanted him as he was too slow as a breezer but this is always what was in my head so it worked out well.

Dundalk Fri, 28th Mar, 2025  Mallavelly We don't work her at home. She is a little bit temperamental, so we have been cuddling her and doing plenty on the sand. This presented itself and I said I wasn't going to start her on soft ground, I want to start her up here. I don't do racecourse gallops, I like doing it on the track under racecourse conditions. I said I don't know whether she can or she can't but, if she runs to an English 78, she will be there or thereabouts. I always start with a blank canvas. Congratulations to David Spratt and Phil Burns of Gaelic Bloodstock, they have been finding horses for me for years. I don't know how they do it or what they see, they are great lads.

Dundalk Fri, 21st Feb, 2025  Sir Callisto Nice horse. He got a bad fall this time last year in Navan on his first run. It was a good run the last day, he was only beaten a length and a-half (in fourth). There was always going to be one like that on the door, it could easily have gone the opposite way in Gerry's (Keane, Theophilos) way tonight. That's the level he is at and that is where he is. It is great that he won for that man (Seamus Ross), he's had a terrible run of luck. Some nice horses and he looked a nice horse and got a bad fall. Hopefully, he might pick up from where we were at. It is lovely to get a bracket for the horse and the man (Ross).
