The Stewards interviewed Sean Cleary Farrell, rider of Storm Elza, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that it was his third ride and he thought his mount was going to run on and finish closer, however he accepted he misjudged his position and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Sean Cleary Farrell was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b)(out of contention) and cautioned him on this occasion. S.T. McCullagh, rider of Morph Speed trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away.
