The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Waterford Whispers, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a front shoe in running but to be otherwise post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed B. Hayes, rider of Chapeau De Soleil, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race, where it appeared that he may have struck his mount after the line. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had his head down in a driving finish and he could not see the winning post because of the horses on his inside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation given by B. Hayes and took no further action
The Raceday Stewards interviewed D. J Gilligan, rider of Beacon Edge, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. J. Gilligan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended D. J. Gilligan for three racedays
K. Callaghan, rider of Pink In The Park, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
