He should be the poster boy for racing because he loves doing it and on top of that he's very good. He's been a horse of a lifetime for these boys and for me. I don't want it to end but it has to end sometimes. I've been banging on about the American Grand National since Leopardstown. He's 148 over fences now, two-mile-five on good ground so why not. It would be some trip and he's paid for it anyway. We thought he might win a race and get to Cheltenham in October for the guys but to have done what he's done is crazy. The Raceday Stewards interviewed B.W. Harvey, rider, following a report from Mr. L. Walsh, Senior Stipendiary Steward, that Mr. Harvey had failed to comply with a request to circle the parade ring one more time before making his way to the start. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and from Mr. L. Walsh. Mr Walsh stated that he had requested Mr Harvey to circle the parade ring one more time before making his way to the start as he had with all the other riders who were mounted. He further stated that Mr. Harvey refused to comply with this request riding his mount towards him and exiting the parade ring. B. W. Harvey stated that he felt Mr. Walsh's request was unreasonable on a warm day and ignored his instruction. He further stated that Mr. Walsh had put his hand on his horses reins but Mr. Walsh disputed this and stated that he put his hand in front of the horses head to protect himself from being trampled on. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that B. W. Harvey was in breach of Rule 13(b), in that he failed to comply with a reasonable request from a Racing Official. Having considered B. W. Harvey's record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended B. W. Harvey for two racedays and fined him €500 on this occasion. Mr. L. An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards that have run at least three times in hurdle races up to and including 16th April 2023 (150 = 11st 12lbs) Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
