Following the race, Oliver Sherwood reported that Book of Gold (IRE), which started second favourite and was pulled up, was unsuited by not being able to dominate on this occasion; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Sean Bowen reported that Loud As Lions (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and Tom O'Brien reported that Vango De Vaige (FR) made a bad mistake at the fifteenth fence and he subsequently pulled the gelding up after jumping the seventeenth fence.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Buster Moon (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
