R.P. Whelan, rider of Fan Club Rules, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped awkwardly out of the starting stalls and later on lost his action two furlongs from the finish

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.A. Powell, rider of Run Forrest Run, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, J.A. Powell stated that he had mistakenly misjudged his use of the whip in relation to frequency. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Powell was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards cautioned J.A. Powell on this occasion
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, S.D. Bowen, rider of Super Cub (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped right from the starting stalls
