The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Ransom (GB), ridden by T.P
Queally, placed third, Dark Note (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, and Fastman, ridden by D.P
McDonogh, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. T. P. Queally stated that his run had come to an end and it did not cost him. W.J. Lee stated that he took a precautionary check as his mount moved left with the winner. D. P. McDonagh stated that his mount drifted left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Fastman had caused interference to Dark Note and Ransom, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action other than to advise D. P. McDonagh to ride with more awareness in the future S. Foley, rider of Swing Point (CAN) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly
W.J. Lee, rider of Dark Note (GB) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was checked slightly inside the last hundred yards
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Fastman trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jinked left in the closing stages.
